About me

By Nancy Solis
I was born in Monterrey, Mexico and I am 34 years old.  My family is fairly big; it consists of my parents and five sisters. I have been married for eight years. I have two kids Natalee my 12 year old daughter and Jericho who is 3 years old. I have a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations. My first teaching experience was in a Head Start Program, I worked as an assistant for three years. While I was part of the Head Start Program I worked and received a Child Develop Associate credential. I decided I wanted to work with children of various ages and started to work on more experience to become a teacher. I applied for a substitute teacher position in the San Antonio School District and I was hired immediately. I have been working for SAISD in an elementary school for several years in different grades and love the teacher child relationship. Currently I am enrolled in the Alternative Certification Program (ACP) EC-6 Bilingual at Texas A&M San Antonio and hope to begin my internship next August. After, I finish my ACP I would like to begin working in my Master of Arts-Bilingual Education.
